i do love smilies...
hey!!

i got my Rath Trombone about 6 days ago now, and i've only just got around to putting some pictures up...

i don't Care if you don't know anything about trombones, you have to admit that this is one Beautiful instrument.

if you Do know anything about trombones, but have never played a Rath, then i suggest you do your upmost to hunt one down... but there's only three guys working in the little workshop where they're made, so there's only been like a 1000 made so far. it doesn't stop them being one of the best instruments (not just trombones... Everything!) i've ever played. i haven't had Much experience with Edwards, but i'd say Rath's crap all over 'em :p.

its a medium-bore, silver nickel slide and bell. the metal's Seriously soft... it wouldn't take much to just fold it in two, i don't think... plays like an absolute dream. MMMmmm!!! should make any other brass players drool! :p

Superfat :) Super not often seen on these boards :)

The bell on my Flugelhorn is copper - sometime's I feel as if I could push it in with my finger... I think nickel may be softer so you gotta be careful with it :)

nice looking, and it stands out well, inspite of your needs in photography tutalage. :)

Nice! I owned a Bach Strad open wrap with a feather weight slide when I was in high school.

I started on a Yamaha intermediate trombone with f attachment. It's also the one I used for marching season. I think all brass instruments are soft because I could put dents in the bell by pushing hard on it with my thumb. I could also take dents out of the bell as long as they weren't too far up. I usually did that with something metal, though.

 what do you mean?! i pointed the camera at it and pressed the button! you mean theres more to it than that? :D :p

and i'll record something as soon as i get home from school early enough to actually record without waking up the Whole house :( :p

thanks,

Mick Rath is making some great horns isn't he????

My Shires, Yamaha 697z, and King 3b play great too...

I tried a nickle bell rath R10 at this years ITF in New Orleans nad fell in love with it...

Defenitely one of the best horns I have tried..

Take care,

Nestor

'Bones

nice, I have a Super Olds made in Fulton, Ca. It has silver slide and bell. Also, have a Yamaha I use for local gigs that projects well.

 cool.

thats the thing... if i ever ended up playing in some ska band or something, i wouldn't Dare take it to some of the clubs around here :p... i'd have to take my older instrument, or get something smaller and cheaper. well. i Say i would, but i think i'd probably end up just using that one :p.

Also, have a Yamaha I use for local gigs that projects well.

thats what it's all about, in the end... in my opinion, a trombone(ist) that can't give the rest of the band hell isn't good enough :p

hehe
