My new track's Final Mix. This was a rough one to get the Bass right. I'm finally pleased with the outcome. Equipment used: Apple iBook G4 using Logic 6, Presonus Firebox, ADK-A-51 mic, Presonus TubePre (preamp), Tapco S-5 studio monitors, Yamaha Keyboard (also used as a midi controller), Epiphone EJ-200 acoustic guitar, Yamaha Bass guitar. Also various other synths, plugs & effects (eq, compression). IK Multimedia plugs are great (Amplitube, T-racks, Sampletank). Logic 6 is a GREAT DAW for the composer. Many great built in sounds. Detailed audio editing is a bit difficult, however, with Logic. With patience it can be done sucsessfully. I will buy a cheap Protools system for that purpose (I sold my MBox earlier in the year) later this year when PT LE 7 is finally released. Click here to listen to my new track

music that is generated from a computer really can't be compared to,let's say,my client, the desire laden-Christian's music.
Christian uses a grass-roots approach to the craft of composing and recording his music,ie-he actually plays instruments that you can hold and he actually sings with his voice.he does not let the computer do these things for him.that is why Christian is a badmuthafucka.he can play circles around you and make you feel it!
ditch the computers and take your lazy ass into a recording studio.
learn to play real instruments and learn to sing.
welcome to the real world!

First of all dont mind the fucker;"In controll", he`s just a waste of air and space, but he`s jolly good fun :D

I think your track is very cool and melodic, very nice levels, great sound,.
Sounds very produced, I like it.
Specially the piano parts are really sweet. :)

Nice tune. I don't know if it's the player on the webpage or not, but drums seem a little too subdued. Not much bass to them. The song sounds good, and could probably use some beefier drums. Other than that, good mix. Very clean. Lots of space for the sounds.

Oh no... In control is posting in other treads too. Lets hear your super client, eh?

There's nothing wrong with computer recording

On to the tune...
nice tune, I like the piano, sounds very real
in fact all the instruments sound good IMO
I guess if anything the drums sound kind of thin to me
i really like the lower synth rhythm part you having going after the high piano parts
maybe the song could use some more bass

overall, I dig those rhythms you have going throughout, good song :D

I like things bass heavy as well...when I played prior mixes of same track on my car system, the lows over dominated. Other cd's (store bought) sound fine. The car has a Bose 5 speaker system.

I just uploaded a beefy-er version. I tweaked the eq on the drums and bass..now there's a bit more thump without the overbearing low end. It makes the track a bit warmer.

Oh yeah, i like that bass sound better ;) The track sounds very nice... if anything I'd try to adjust the snare sound some more, if you could somehow try to thicken it up by maybe doubletracking it or EQing more or something, i think it'd sound more real... but that's just my personal taste in drum sound...

cool song :D

Thanks for advice. Unfortunatly I have to use drum loops. It's very frustrating since I am a drummer. I live in a condo...and drums are not welcome. I used loops from "drums on Demand" which are decent. When we move to a house, I may go back and add "real" drums on all my previous tracks.

This is really strong, the drums are actually well done, I think other than the repeated snare feel, you could almost fool people out of believing they're loops.
The only thing that doesn't sit right for me is the acoustic guitar, it sounds a little thin compared to all the other well mixed sounds you have, kind of out of place, a little more low mids would bring it out a bit.

But well composed, measured, but still with heart. I'm giving it four and a half stars ;)

Thanks, I'm getting much more favorable feedback with the added bass. This track was really difficult to mix. I usually can make tracks with minmal eq.

nice writing...

and instrumentation.

The intro could set the tone for the rest of the song by eliminating the syncopated rhythm behind the guitar IMO. It immediately tips us off that the piano is generated whereas by itself the piano is fairly rich-sounding.

Nice feel. I don't know if you re-mixed it since you got comments on the drums sounding thin, but I personally like the drum sound in this tune. It suits the tune. Nice arrangement all around.

Yes..I added more punch. I believe I have a final mix ready for mastering. I'm going to fade out the ending.

The syncopated bass at the intro was about the only thing I found that would fit nicely.

I'm hoping to have 5 more tracks finished next year for an album. I've got a couple of tracks that I hope to hire outside musicians.

I can hear a filter effect on the drums. I can also see film credits scrolling as this song is playing in the background! The pad you have hard-panned to the left (assuming my speakers are wired accurate) could be panned a little more towards the center.

Love the stop at the end! So sudden; so abrupt!
