It starts out real quiet and gradually builds into a very loud in-your-face rocker that's not TOO over-the top...just nice and powerful. Just giving you fair warning if you're gonna pump it up before it kicks in at :57.

Just wanted to post this up to hear any feedback on any glaringly obvious problems on anyone's systems like too much treble/bass etc. This is still just a sketchpad song for now.

I played everything on this btw so if there's not enough guitar wanking then forgive me since I'm primarily a drummer. I am more concerned about the guitar tone (since it's my primary weakness). So for you guitarists, what would you do different tone-wise (more or less highs/mids/lows)?

I thought this turned out surprisingly well sound quality-wise for being recorded just yesterday as this is the best sound I've been able to achieve to date. Also was wondering if the beginning build up is a bit too repetitive and drawn out.

Everything was recorded going into a Presonus Firepod through Sonar mixed on KRK Rokit8's. Drums are a Roland TD-20S with a C detuned Strat into a POD. Bass is an Ibanez acoustic/electric.

Nice intro...:cool:

But, when "band" starts to play:
drums sounds narrow- poor stereo image - and BD has no low frequencies;I see in the analyzer, there´s something kicking (around 30hz), but is so sub low that I cannot hear in my monitors;
Strange dip/cut near 80hz - thin mix IMO.

Yeah, nice intro...
bit long though...
The whole kit with the exception of the toms? in the build, is too far back behind that main perc instrument.
The kick sounds like you're punching cabbages & the reverb match to it is wide and annoying.
The bass lines are cool but need some definition around 3khz. The snare is MUCH too loud.
Nice piece though. When you're ears are rested - get stuck in again.

Very cool percussive guitar intro--but yeah, arguably too long. You asked about the guitar tones--not enough meat as they sit now. But they could actually be okay if the drums and bass were covering more frequencies in the mix. Right now it sounds like some super lows (the bass & kick) and the guitars sitting up higher in the mix. Makes it sound a bit thin--like the middle is missing.

I like the tone of the bass & kick--but the drum kits needs to be more balanced and the bass guitar (for my taste anyway) needs more meat on top of that bottom end.

But this is a cool idea, with a cool sound--definitely worth pursuing!
