my mp3 encoder trial has expired help!

is there any alternative to encoding a finished project other than using cakewalks mp3 encoder??? they want $29 for it!!!! You would think it would be part of the program. Any thoughts????

Again Moskus, I am in awe.

Visited the website and they mentioned Sonar, not Sonar 3 and also win 2000, no XP. Anyone know if this also works with Sonar 3 and WinXP? Seems like it should.... just wondering if there was any feedback to the contrary before I try it!

It should work with any Sonar- or Windows-version.

Although that will definitely do the trick, I feel obligated to point out that there are more free mp3 encoder programs out there than tetris clones. You may, in fact, want to try dumping your projects to wav and then you can do some mastering or at least basic prepwork (normalizing, removing DC, trimming silence, etc) before dumping them to mp3. Just a suggestion.

No, it encodes MP3 files. Sonar has native support for 24 bit (at least I think so).

I use dbPoweramp and it only encodes 16 bit wavs

I don't know, I still record in 44/16. But I think the MP3-"standard" needs 16bit files, if they're 24 bit they will be dithered down to 16.
