ok, cubase is working fine, i'm doing multitrack recordings,
i can change at what frequency i record, 48khz
; i can choose that in the ASIO setup thing...
but i can't find how i set my soundcard to 24 bit

now what i did was record everything in 44kzh and 16 bit,

did a mixdown to 48khz and 16 bit,
but i guess that's all wrong, if i don't record in it, what's the use of exporting it in that bitrate and stuff ?
i wanna edit my entire drumtrack in Soundforge now, yeah, i got a 24 bit audio track, but it feels fake, not real, know what i'm saying

so tja, how do i change that;... the bitrate of recording and playback
with a MOTU 828 , in cubase ?

thank !

If it's anything like Nuendo ..... Create or load a Project ... then click Project/Project Setup.

hehehe, yes it is. I thought about that in the beginning aswell, but you don't actually "set" your computer, your soundcard, or Cubase to a sertain sample/bitrate and then leave it like that. In the ASIO control panel that you saw, you mearly indicate what soundcard you have, and therefor what bitrate you can use. In the properties of your actual project you set these things. So you can basicly change it per project, from all the sample/bitrates your computer can handle. Find it somewhere in "Project > Preferences" or something similar. Here you should be able to change a few more things, like framerate (for video syncing) and wheter you want you to use timebase editing (milliseconds etc.) or rythmical editing, like bars and beats.
