I stayed home sick so I mixed this.
It was all out of the box. (No PC or automation)

I spent the weekend rewiring everything to so I could give this a try.
I used 17 channels on the 32 channel board.
8 compressors.
8 EQ's
And 2 FX units.

It sucks when your use to automation and have to do everything on the fly.

Gonna give my head a rest and try again later. This flu bug sucks!!!

Sorry RAMI, I hope I didn't rune your tune!

Nice mix timboz.....it emphasizes the vocals a bit more than the original, which is cool by me. Great tune as well RAMI - makes mixing this pretty easy too... :D

Hehe....Right on, Tim. Of course, I have to get used to this, it's so different than what I heard the million times I listened to it. I'm not used to my vocals being up front that much. I feel naked :D

I think the kik, and maybe the drums in general, can come up. But, I might like my drums too loud in general.

It might be me, but I hear everything slightly tilted to the right side of the stereo spectrum.

Yep, I really find the vocals too loud, but I'll give it a chance and see if I get used to it.

This is too cool. Thanx, Tim.

Just for reference, here's my mix: http://www.ramirami.com/freemusic.cfm?go=1&component=music-download&id=133013

Not so people can compare so much as hear the difference of how I heard it and how Tim heard it. If anyone wants to get in on a mix, let me know. I can put the tracks back up.

Thanks...
I had a hard time getting the snare out. I have no way to play with the phase of the snare or O/H's mixing this way.

I'm not sure I like the FX I'm using. Also I think the solo guitar needs to be out a little more. After listening again the vocals are too loud.

I'm not feeling any better so I guess I'll have another shot at in the morning.

Thanks again.

Not bad....vocals are a bit too upfront and bright. Rami has a very full voice, and this is a bit thin. Thicken that up. Drums are not quite up to snuff...you captured some of the sounds well, but need to enhance his accent hits. Good job with the bass...it still comes through pretty well. The vocals are hiding a bit too much though. Bring some depth to the vocals, and take them down a notch. You have a good pop on the kick...keep that, but add some boom also. The cymbals ring well, but get a bit more from the snare.

Hey Tim, I can reverse the phase on the snare track and send it to you. I didn't know you didn't have a phase switch on your outboard gear. If it makes a difference, let me know. I always have to reverse the phase on my snare, so I'm sure it wasn't easy for you to bring it out.

Thanks RAMI...I can do that on the DAW...(I don't have a phase switch on my Yamaha board.)

I just wanted to give it a try like I was Live. It's been a while sence I used a lot of the gear and ran FOH. (I miss it).
I could do it with outboard gear by switching the wires in the
XLR connector from the ADAT unit to the Yamaha.

It was fun doing it.

With my current setup I can mix 16 tracks outboard. If I get another Behringer ADA8000 that will allow me to mix 24 tracks outboard plus FX.

Also I had to change all the files to 44.1khz 16bit. Thats all my Fostex VE160's will accept.
