My Kit is now finished, complete with monster kick

A month or so back I decided that rather than spend ££££ on a new kit I would completely rework my existing one. It is mainly Premier XPK with a mapex rack tom and half of another XPK bass drum joined on.
The kick Sounds surprisingly punchy considering how long it is, also teamed with an Emad head it sounds like a cannon! All in all it cost me £80 to rework it, including all the powder coating! I am recording next week so will see how it sounds then!

Nice work! It sure LOOKS good so far! What did you do with the kick? Did you make one of the shells shorter and somehow join them together with whatever that white strip is? Just curious.

I see you ditched a tom?
 
Cheers guys. Yea I ditched a tom for two reasons.. it was a really cheap one and I have always prefered a minimal kit :)
I chopped the lesser drum in half, then used the ring (a normal hoop with an inch or two removed) and drilled through it and the shell then hammered/glued in dowl, all the way around, through both shells.
 
It looks like the batter side of your kick has less lugs, or am I mistaken?


Looks nice though ,good idea for making a super kick!
