My home studio

This is my home studio. I use Lawson mics and a Mindprint micpre. the recorder is a Korg D16 expanded 16 track. My computer is an Alienware with xp os and 3gigs of ram. I edit with the old Cool Edit software. The reverb is a TC 4000. The Monitors are Yamaha and Mackie. I've been recording with this system for 5 years without any problems to speak of.

I usually record Violin, Mandolin, Guitars & Vocals. On occasion I have recorded Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Tenor and Alto Sax. I place The String instruments pretty close to the mic. Vocals are recorded about a 8-12 inches from the mic. The lack of acoustic treatment in the room has not been problematic for me so far. Dave Chambliss
