Magic Bag Of Sounds
i'm satisfied with this but i'm not blown away. i recorded it using a shure bg5.0 as an overhead (which picked up way too many cymbals), a cad tsm411 on the snare, and a cad kbm412 on the kick (on the beater side which was a huge mistake since it got a lot of snare bleed). for guitars i used the tsm411 and a shure sm48 without the capsule on it. bass i did di with the lineout on his amp head. for vocals i used the shure sm48. really what ruined the recording for me was lack of a good vocal mic and lack of a stereo image on drums. but its just our demo so i lived with it and once i get money to get some non garbage mics (these were given to me for $30) we'll record again. really i'm disappointed in the lack of toms and a good bass drum sound.

you can download the whole thing here-- http://www.hxcmp3.com/the_calas_affair/

no slash at the end

I think the guitar tone is too high or maybe the volume is. It's a pretty good recording though, given the circumstances. The vocals can be better, but I don't think it's the mic's problem. Needs more chugga chugga breakdowns.

Sorry , I couldn't get it to download for some reason.. :( .I'll try later :D

the guitars were way too high, i agree. i also found out after some random compressing that the bass drum mic picked up a ridiculous amount of floor tom as well. i'm fixing it right now :(

alright i just made it sound about 2,000X better
