did you ever watch "the wolfman" when you were young? no, younger than that- i'm not talking about "an american werewolf in london", or paris, for that matter.....

Hey Gonzo... hearin some Vince Neil in that voice of yours... (maybe not as much growl...) your guitar tones are ALWAYS the sweetest... this has that very nice AOR late 70's, early 80's Kiss sound to it, too. It's like an album cut from them, or something, that never aired on radio. Another cool one, G-X.

good one! nice guitar sounds, vocals, recording.. basically the whole deal.. did I hear this song before? I thought I heard this from you, but maybe not..

I'm working on a halloween song, but then again all my songs are halloween songs.. :)

good stuff Gonz..

I like it! Cool vocals and harmonies. The sounds are good too.....the mix seems murky for some reason. I can hear all the different parts ok and they sound good but for some reason they sort of run together and nothing really is seperated from anything else....does that make any sense?
But the performance and the song are really good and the sounds are good also except for that odd muddiness I mentioned. very good work....

Hey Gonzo......
Cool stuff man. I dig the vocals alot! The arrangement and off time sigs kept me interested too. Very dynamic, very cool song man. ......and as usual, damn fine guits.

Great work man,

G

THANK YOU AGAIN, FOR CHECKING IT OUT, AND OFFERING SUGGESTIONS............

PARTICIPANT-
i'm just stuck in that 70's-80's thing, aint i?! ;)
you know, i've wanted to remix this for a long time, maybe i can clean up the mix and get it a little more punchy, take some of the 70's sheen off of it! LOL
glad you liked it..........

b. sabbath-
yes, you've heard this one a ways back, but since it's halloween, i thought i'd shake the dust off it, seemed appropriate........ i will re-mix this on my new monitors, any specific suggestions on things to concentrate on?

Lt. Bob-
i salute.
i agree with you about the mix, i've always felt like that about this one.....
i think it's simple eq fixes.......
there's a ton of seperation on some of the parts.... for example, the feedback thing in the middle, the spacey part........ there's 6 guitar tracks there of nothing but rumble and feedback harmonies, and they're all going from hard left to hard right across the field..... but you're right, they're muddy......

Guernica-
thanks for the comp on the vox..... i had to work at those.... the original is funny, i played the drum parts on the washing machine, micing the bass drum as my fist against the side of the washer..........
the hi hats were a big tupperware bowl full of rice.......
i think i used a shoebox for the snare........
it sounds more like a funeral dirge...............

this is one of several i had mixed down on my home stereo, before i got my monitors.......
i'd really like to remix them, so if you have any suggestions on problems with compression or eq, those are the things i'm trying to work on now..........

thanks again!

I'm not qualified enough to give any sugg, but i did take a peek and thought this was an outstanding piece of "hard work". Guitar playing and tones were something special, as were the vocals and everything else. Enjoyed mucho..

HEY DAVID!

you're probably just as qualified as me, dude! ;)

LOL

you know, even if someone doesn't know the technical jargon, or even really know what it is that makes stuff happen, you know what you hear, and like....
so if there was a place where it was trebly, or bassy, or squashed sounding, or whatever, it's all good to comment on....

so don't disqualify yourself..... and i appreciate your comments.

Good song. Nice vocals. Good tight harmonies. Interesting ambience to it. Nice powerful bass sound.

As far as the mix, maybe lacking in midrange slightly (except for the lead guitar). Vocals could be brought up just a nudge.

I love it! I love the rhythm changes and excellent vocals!
I am sort of new here so I haven't heard this one before.

no one has mentioned the lyric yet.... on the site, there's a story.....

TRIPLEM-
thanks for the listen..... i agree with your assessment about the midrange.... i don't know how it ended up like that, i did no cuts there, but there is boosts elsewhere, that's probably the culprit.... i'll work on a new mix this weekend....

scottboyher-
glad you liked it..... being new is cool, post some stuff as well !

Rob,

As always, great guitar and bass playing. Vocal harmonies are also well done. If I had to add my 2 cents' worth, I'd say crank the mids a bit more.

Yves.

Beautiful!!! I love the fine edge and tightness. Id like a bit more sparkle on the vocals , but otherwise its really B.. I.. G.. .

Yes I watched Lon Chaney Jr many times. My lifelong friend and I melted part of his mother`s dinnerware to make silver daggers for "protection" when we were 12. Im 49 and still have mine. :)

THANKS AGAIN FOR THE MIX IDEAS.... I'M DOING IT NOW....

homestudio1-
hey, thanks for the reply.... i'm in the middle of re-mixing this right now, and it's going well.... mids are definitely getting tweaked! there is some sparkle missing as well, and i think i may try mastering the drums by themselves, to bring out some low mid energy and compress it just right, leaving the high end alone....

toki987-
you sparkle comment is noted.
lt. bob and i both laughed out loud at your dagger story! that is so wrong....

my buddy from way back, and i, were pretty much into that same kind of thing..
we built the models and painted them, we bought the comic books, we'd be the werewolf at halloween, and make the teeth out of pipe cleaners and paraffin.....
