Metallica - Enter Sandman (mix 20)
Rip this to shreds, fellas! Be harsh but constructive with your comments, please!
This is going up on YouTube eventually (with corresponding video clips) once I get the vocal tracks in (or the clock runs out on that and I decide to put it up anyway). My account on YouTube is jsd1982. I want this mix to stand out and get it right from the start.
Overall, I've been struggling to get the low-end under control and I'm afraid I might've choked it a bit too much. I want that rattle from the bass guitar that's apparent on the original recording but I'm not sure which frequency ranges to boost and cut for that.
Also the drums have been a pain. Drums are from Superior Drummer 2.0 with each instrument separated to its own buss, *tons* of EQ, and of course compression and limiting. Perhaps too much limiting.
Guitars have a match-EQ on them to match fairly closely to the tone of the original recording, and I'm fairly happy with them, but they could have a bit more punch in the upper-mids I think. There's something missing there, and I'm not sure what it is exactly.
Thanks!
P.S. apparently I cannot post actual URLs until I make 10 posts - that's very dumb and discourages me from wanting to use this forum at all
