Well i'm on to my first mix-session just got a recording with my band which consists of: bass, organ, guitar, vocal, drums.

Need advice especially on the vocals? any tricks on vocals.

Keep in mind that i have never mixed anything before.

thanks.

You're probably going to have to be a bit more specific. You don't learn to mix by following rules, although they can help.
What I mean by this is that it's probably better to use your ears to mix as far as you can, and ask the board specific questions about problems you're having. Also, sound clips really help out when describing these issues.

Blanket advice is to start with the drums, getting the sound you want on overheads, then kick, then snare, then mix in the other tracks. Usually I'd mix that something like;

Drums,
Bass,
Organ,
Guitar.

At this point it should sound like there's something missing, a space which will obviously be filled by the vocals. Some people do it differently but I like to create a space to fit the vocals into, so they jump out at you.

Good luck!
