My first mix (First song by my band)

Hey, guys. I'm new here, despise reading it eventually. I've mixed this song yesterday and I wanted you to listen to it. Also I've been facing trouble mastering it.
Anyway, wanted your help.
Recorded using Logic 9.

Downloading a new/unknown person's file isn't often done around here because we don't know if you're trustworthy YET.
Try a streamer like soundcloud or soundclick next time.
The thumping bass 43sec + is a bit loud for the other instruments in that section - it's eitherr booming or M.I.A. Why is that?
The transitions to the thumping bass are too ragged & the bass is WAY WAY too loud & doesn't realyy do anything for the song except bury everything else.
I liked the sudden stop.
the vocals are great.
Work out what you really want to do with that bass - it isn't danceabe to trancey so what is its role?
 
Maybe you meant "despite".
It's very good for a "first mix". It sounds like you have mixed other stuff before.
Good sound overall, perhaps slightly "smiley". Interesting reverb.
I agree with rayc about the bass.

Generally sounds pretty good.

I'm hearing some chorusy sound to the lead vocal. I *think* it's just an mp3 conversion thing, but I'm not sure.

The timing gets a little rough for a few seconds around 1:08.

The synth-bass level is very inconsistent. There are a couple sections where it is very boomy. It's really thumping in some spots, and then immediately nearly goes away.

I think a double tracked vocal would sound good on this.
 
Yup, way bass heavy in some spots. Do you have some drastic EQ on it?

Most of it sounds good, but you need an accurate way to hear your subs, try headphones or a set of computer speakers with a sub woofer. Listen to some commercial CD's and match up the bass.
 
By the way, what's your band called? It sounds better than most stuff I've been hearing on the radio lately arround here, and it would be cool to watch you guys live.
 
The mastering is probably the main problem here. The bass comes and goes drastically. The chorus / panning on the vocals is weird to listen to. This cannot be your first mix...lol Cool tune dude keep working on the mix...
 
Hi, guys. Sorry I took this long to answer, I was in the process of recording more songs with my band. So, thanks for the tips you gave me.
And yes, I meant "despite", sorry.
I realized it is the bass that is messing things up a bit. Soon I will post a new mix for you to listen.
By the way, my band's called Carlota and we're from Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Thanks, man. Should I center the vocals? It surely sounds a little strange the way it is. But yes, it's my first mix.
 
Song is very good, but I agree, bass is way to loud. Drums are great! Post your next mix here, so we can hear how it evolves.

And yes, next time post it on soundcloud so we can take a listen without downloading the file (:

Edit: I had a second listen and I think snare is too loud at the end of the song. And I like the background voices at about 3:00
Just work on those things and you'll have a wrap

I've rewrote and rerecorded the bass line. Also made some changes on volume and panning, especially on the drums.
It may sound quieter than the previous one, though.
What do you guys think about it?

(P.S.: I noticed a misplaced note around 2:17 after I posted the song, so don't mind it :))
