Well I've never recorded with a Marshall amp before so I'm kinda a NOOB. I didn't want to get into any BIG Marshall until I got a feel for their signature tone. Anyway I started small and got me an MS-2 Mini amp. I'd like to know what you Marshall veterans use in your MS-2 amps. Do you use the stock 2" speaker or did any of you upgrade to a Weber, Scumback, Eminence, Jesen,or even a Celestion. What type of 9 volt do you use. Is it a standard, Heavy-Duty, Alkaline? What brand of 9 volt do you use? Ray-0-Vac , Duracell, Eveready, etc. Do certain batteries bring out more high or lows. These are questions I'd like to know if I'm going to get the best out of my new amp. Thanks for all the good advice in advance.

This is all thong in cheeks of course. Please Don't take this seriassly.

Here's the clip of the amp so you can give me advice. It's the 1st clip on the page.

Wow - that is incredible.

You make me feel stupid for spending $750 for an actual half stack a few weeks back.

I really like the tone you got out of that thing !!

Thanks for the props guys. I myself was totally blown away on how well this little thing recorded and sound this huge. Who could figure that you could get that tone out of a little 2" speaker. :D

Damn...That sounds fantastic. Why the hell can't the MGs sound that good...or good period?

I hate being the slow kid....... but what does MG stand for ?

Hey Tim, I was kidding about needing advice on batteries, speakers and all that. I just thought it would be funny that someone would be so serious as to ask about what batteries and if they effect tone, and asking about replacement speakers. I mean, c'mon would anyone be so serious about advice on this little amp. The clip though REALLY is that of the MS-2. HONEST. One thing I would never do is try to pass off a clip that I didn't play or say I used an amp I didn't. I would never deceive anyone like that.

Whoa... alright, fair enough. I'll be picking one up with my next paycheck then. Is that the actual method you used for miking?
And I knew the battery stuff was a joke XD I'm not that naive!

Yea Tim, I had to set my Apex 460 Tube condenser mic JUST right to get it to sound good. If it was TOO close it sounded boomy and if it was TOO far it sounded thin. I had to also make certain the signal wasn't clipping the input.

You pose a question of great concern! I say you should use rechargeable batteries. Now, you want the 9V rechargeables to be about 20% discharged and always place two in parallel. You then want to take two (connected in series) 1.5V batteries that are of completely different mfg. Connect them in series with the rechargeables. The two 9V in parallel should provide about same mAh as the 1.5V batts.

The 9V act as "enhancers" while the 1.5V batts act like "smoothers". If you want a more of an "analog" sound, you should connect a partially discharged 12V car battery in parallel of the aforementioned setup. The sound you get is out of this earth!!! You will throw all your eq's and comps out the window, trust me!!

hehehehe...:D:D

Thong in cheek!
Is that as in G String & if so does it refer to cheeks of a bottocks or cheeks of a face as in having it in mouth?
OR
In the Aussie version, someones rubber summer footwear & if so in buttocks or mouth?
