Hi there guys and ladies,

this is my first finished demo (after 10 years of trying to write, perform and mix) to attract musicians to start a band with. I live in Holland by the way, so if you like it or know anyone in Holland to come and play, please let me know! But actually, I just want to share it here! Enjoy and feel free to share!

Sounds really polished. Everything sounds pretty and the mix isn't muddy. The only thing is the bass comming in during the chorus is a little too abrupt, it sounds like someone changed station on a radio dial. However honestly it sounds really good.

Wow, I never thought I would get so much nice responses (Posted it on a lot of spaces)! Thanks for taking the time to reply! (I did that bass on purpose, the verse get bass piano to let the choruses have some more weight)

Nice mix, lots of variation in the song. I could swear that I hear a bit of 'Doe Maar' influence in you music.

Haha thanx mate! I actually like the band but never listened to them actively. I will check them more, another guy heard some influences from Primus and Porcupine Tree. But you're from the states and know them?

I thought parts of this was really good. Great performances. I like the harmonies.

when the chorus kicks in at about 30 seconds, the mix gets really cloudy.

I think the bass and kick are too boomy. Like they have a ton of energy somewhere around 100-120hz.

Like the guitar and keyboard sounds. Like the vocal sounds.

The biggest issue is the chorus. that needs to be fixed. But if you get that fixed, this thing sounds really good.

Thanx TripleM! Totally agree with you on you feedback, thanx for it. I'm going to work on it with another guy maybe, if he doesn't charge too much money ;)

I lived in the Netherlands for ten years. I got to like a lot of the Dutch artists. Doe Maar's "De Bom" is a classic. I have to admit that I had a little bit of a crush on Anita Meijer.

Haha, Anita, I remember her! Doe maar is fantastic yes! You should check out Bracha van Doesburg, she's lovely, but also Hannah Verboom.

It has been over twenty years since I lived there so most of the bands I remember may not even be around today. I believe that Danny de Munk is still performing, don't know if Normaal is still around. I have a vinyl LP of the Dolly Dots. A co-worker of mine, at the time, did the spoken part in the Dolly Dots song "Bobby's Supermarket."

Fun times, My family and I loved living there.

Tot Ziens

Cool tune....has all the Pop elements.
Well done, nothing bad about it that I can hear.

You've got a lot going on in that little song. So much so that it all kind of meshes together towards the end. I think you could do the song some good by backing off the final limiter a bit and let it breathe. That way all the elements have room on the sound stage and not all at the same level.

I know the pain of trying for 10 years to get your ideas into a listenable form. If this is your first atempt, you did real good. Songwriting and engineering.

Welcome to the site.

Hi guys, thanx! Yeah, right now I'm working and mailing investors to ask if they want to help me to record, mix and master this professionally. This is the best I could do after a lot of work and don't feel like working on it anymore. Final version will be recorded with my own band (Looking for musicians right now). Now I'm focussing on finishing other songs so that we can record our first album somewhere in may or this summer!
