I'm utterly new to this home recording thing so I'm taking baby steps at the moment. Here's step one:

I'm doing this completely basic so far, just plugging my bass into my onboard soundcard and playing along with some backing tracks in an old version of Cakewalk. A lack of $$$ these past few weeks has kept me from randomly buying anything yet, so after reading many posts here, I think I've decided on the Audiophile 24/96 and DMP3 for my needs. Thanks to everyone who has helped me out, either directly or indirectly!
