never said this here, this has to be my all time favorite:

So the laptop I am using now which is a HP something or other; when I play the stereo system full blast from my van and record to my laptop at the same time and then play it back from my laptop; I can hardly hear it and for what I can hear the sound fluctuates and is most defiantly distorted

Any reason why please
