When I turn on the unit, the VU meter for the left channel immediately goes into the red, even with no mic plugged in. If I record the "sound", then I hear a loud humming noise.
Any ideas as to what might be wrong would be GREATLY appreciated - I was about to start a new recording project, but now, it's stalled...
