my DELL dimensin 9100 & MIDI ports

i dont think my 6 mo new computer has midi ports....only like 8 USB.

Is there a way to connect MIDI devices into the computer via USB ports?

i feel like i shouldnt ask, as the answer im 80/90% sure is no......but if anyone can enlighten me....THNKS

midi ports

sure there is - you can add a card to the machine or you can get a midi interface that plugs in via the usb. I have both. Go check out ZZounds.com

If you're new to midi, I strongly recommend these good articles on midi basics - part one and part two.

There was always a wonderful world to explore behind the midi curtain, but with USB connections, multi controller interfaces and pad controllers EVERYWHERE it's getting to be a downright Garden of Eden --- and the key is learning midi basics...
