last friday ( im a student and i was home for the weekend) i stopped by the local daddys junky and met a salesperson that really is a nice guy, ive dealt with him outside of the store before for old tape equipment. he invited me to his house and we had a good talk about stuff. anyway, he had a tascam 246 ($250) in great condition transferred over to his daddys and all his other employees were making fun of him. ( they just didnt get it ) so by sunday i had made my decision that it was going to be mine. i traded an old keyboard, an effects board (which i actually made a 5 dollar profit off) and another latter model tascam 4 track. he took off 25 bucks and i got the thing for 100 bucks. i drove back to school with the biggest smile on my face and found out i had no room in the dorm room for it. i finagled and finagled until i found a place for it so my roomate wouldnt get mad (he doesnt get it either).
i am proud to say i have a functional studio hiding away in my closet, with the prettiest multi-tracker ive ever owned. sometimes i turn it on and just watch the vu meters dance.
i have some 'that's' tapes ive been saving up too -
thats my story,
keep the sine wave going,
noah
