my cubase sx is slowing down alot.

ok first off here is my specs.

2.13 ghz amd athlon
1 gig ddram
over 250 gig HD

now the problem is that i'm recording a friend of mines band and they recordd a song but after i recorded like 5 tracks cubase slows down alot and i start getting popping sounds in the overall sound (but not when i mix down the tracks), now is there some setting cubase has to speed it up alot cuz i think it should run flawlessly with 1 gig ram.

if anybody can help me out cuz i know there is a solution.

oh the cubase is cubase SX 1 , the reason why i'm not using v.3 is because guitarrig (amp simulator plugin) doesn't work with the 3 version.

the cause of your problem

You are going to have to render (to a new file) the guitar tracks and disable the original track and the plugin on the track. You have ground your computer to a halt with too many instances of guitar rig.
