my computer is ready... just add sound

alright so i have the following computer built:

350W
amd athlon xp 1700
512 RAM
CD Burner

Blah blah blah

and i also have a fostex fd8 digital multitracker

situation 1: buy a really nice soundcard, the fd8 is useless
situation 2: buy a soundcard that will utilize both the computer and the multitracker

what piece of gear would most successfully tie these two getting the most use of both. any ideas?

1) That is not necessarily a true statement.

2) That would be abetter scenario for you.

3) Look at the Delta 1010, or another soundcard with 8 inputs.

Two quick questions...........

A) What is your spending limit on the soundcard?

B) Does your fd8 have digital OUTS.
