I just got a Seymour Duncan Custom Custom pickup for my Gibson SG. I haven't put it in yet, I'm going to get a new soldering iron tomorrow, and I'll be sure to post some comments when I'm done testing it out :D

Oh baby, I've got the So-Cal! Nice action, smooth fingerboard. I like!

I did disassemble the pickup so I could wire it for coil-splitting action  Why I mod everything, I don't know :o Someone please help!

Pickups are definitely about patience, I'm learning that now having that nice pickup sitting in a case right beside my guitar, not being able to put it in yet. :(
I think I'm going to put it in normally first, no coil tap/parallel/out of phase fancy stuff, I don't have the switches for that stuff, don't know how much I'd use it, and don't want to wait to get them before I try it out.

Mshilarious what is the So-Cal?

I got a custom custom in the bridge of my Ibanez SZ520 ,man what a difference! I have a feeling you will love the Pup.
I have mine wired for split coil in the middle...its nothing special in single coil mode...who wants single coil anyway..full on humbucking this PUP is my absolute favorite....great Gibson-ite tone

prepare your ears for sonic bliss

If I post anything more than my avatar, the taste police will neg me!

I'll post a pic when I can, maybe later this week

Strictly speaking I am adding a series/parallel switch, so it's not single coil :o It's going to be fun winding a pickup, I think.

I finally got the pickup in tonight, got it restrung, played it for a couple of hours, and I've reached my verdict... It's exactly what I wanted, and it sounds better than I expected!
The custom custom is insanely fat sounding, its dark yet articulate and has tons of mids. The bass has a lot of character, its not booming or tight but it has a vocal quality to it, thats only there on the bass and not on the rest of the sound. Chords, even distorted are distinguishable. The clean sound is quite good, a thousand times better than the stock Gibson pickup. Although its a rather dark pickup (which suits me perfectly, being in an SG) it has a lot of harmonics and absolutely sings. The highs are very very smooth.

If I had to describe it as briefly as possible it would be: thick but articulate.

^thats what I thought you'd say ha ha
My PUP search was over when I found the custom custom,I almost went with a dimarzio air zone..but the bottom end with it sounded light and hollow
Im into heavy, and not wanting to go with batteries and lack of charactor(cough EMG) I think what ever brand of guitar I go with I will load em with Duncans,I also got a roadstar with a hot rails pups in it and Im equally pleased
