Ok..it's not until thursday the 30th, but what the hey. Sorry haven't been around in a few, and i've missed alot of great stuff i know..I'll try and catch up as much as possible. I'm working with half electric drums--kick&toms, and live snare and overheads. I can't seem to get a handle on the snare just yet, I think it's the way he's hitting it..maybe, or just me. I'm open to any/all advice, thanks guys. http://www.nowhereradio.com/david/singles last song on the page.."Mississippi river"

Oh yeah man. Some real rockin laid back bluesy sh-ite!Really good vocals.Damn good guitar playing and the groove is kickin ass at the 2 minute mark.I dig stuff like that.

The mix sounds pretty darn good to me.Everything seems to be sitting just right and that vocal is just right in the mix. You've got a nice voice David.Cool breakdown at 3:33......nice dynamics dude.Im really diggin this.

You're one of my favorites around here.Im a southern rock old school junkie.:D

I hope you have a great b-day on thursday david!I turned 38 yesterday!

Ya' can't tell us it's your birthday and not tell us how old you are! :D
A very nice song....sounds like Motown to me....sorta like People Get Ready. Nice all the way aroung...the guitar....the ride .....the vocals......everything just grooves away here.
I really like it a lot....even though it keeps rebuffering....I'll have to d'load it. Very good piece man.

sounds good david.......great laidback feel

nice guitar playing........very nice..........the vocals sound nice and warm........man, everything sounds pretty good.......

nice song too

David, shit man, great. good chops all around. Bass is kicking. Guitar is great. and happy b-day dude.

Happy Birthday Kudzoo Kween!! :)

I really liked that tune man. You got ya drums all squared away. Voc, Git and Bass real fine. That has a really good feeling to it.
It`d be really cool if you`d stop by down to the the New Philadelphia C.O.G.I.C. and see if a couple of the ladies in the choir would come harmonize and halellujah some in background with ya on the chorus and vamp.

cool stuff.. I hear what Lt. is saying with the Motown comment.. I'm home with the flu, so I'll save any mix comments until my ears unclog.. It does sound like the rhythm guitar is too low.. decent tune though.. sometimes it reminds me of the Black Crowes or Rod Stewart.. good stuff.. I thought I may have heard a few timing /sync issues, but it's probably just the sickness.. My eyes are tearing as I type this..

happy boitday to you and Kramer! :D

Hey David,

I hope you have a great b-day on thursday david!I turned 38 yesterday!

...Happy B-day Dudes:) ....

...cool song man, Definitely motowny feel. Well written tune, and nicely recorded. Drums sound really nice man. That half live combination is a winner. On these speakers here at work, this sounds great mix-wise. If i had to get real nitty, there are a couple of small vocal pitch slips.... .....but they add to the feel of the tune, so im not sure thats a bad thing. This has a "sung in one take" kinda feel that i really like. This is great stuff David..... I liked this alot.

Happy Almost Birthday To you... (imagine it sung, lol).

Very well done, as usual. Those are real drums, right? The bottom all sounds nice, and you sang it very well.

It reminds me a lot of Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck's version of "People Get Ready," but I think the quality of your voice is what's doing it to me.

Be good,
chris

Happy birthday, and great song,

This is very nice, drums sound very nice on my end.

Your voice is great, as is the rest of the band (I'm assuming that's you too).

Yeah you definately got a Ron Wood tone on this one, sounds grreat!! As chris said.

Great work!!

I like your description at NWR: "It's a big fuckin river...and I can't swim." haha

Two things come quickly to mind. GREAT clean recording. And man I have to turn the knob way up!... can't you raise the levels on the Mains or something :D

Beautiful beautiful song too. I was just telling dtb in his thread how his song made me want to go to the river....and now this! LOL. Great song. You have a helluva voice. Nice job!

Thanks alot dudes

Kramer: Hey right back at ya man, your one of my favorites around here too. (38)..ah your still a young lad still:D ,i'm older than dirt! Thanks bra!

LT.Bob: Thanks for checking it out sir. Glad ya liked it, yeah i've heard that "people get ready' comment a few other times before...oh well, I didn't mean for it to sound that way:) . Thanks for the kind words LT.

powderfinger: Sup, bro! Thanks for listening to this, I'll catch some of you guys tunes when i'm finished with this. Thanks!

dtb: Hey thanks brutha, I really enjoyed that tune of your's I heard last night...great stuff man.

Toki987: haha, ya crack me up man! Yeah, well I don't think I got the drums squared away just yet, but it's a start in the right direction me thinks. Hell yeah, i'll stop by and pick up a few of them ladies..I know my wife wouldn't mind that:D . Thanks a ton dude!

B.SABBATH: Damn bro, I hope ya get to feeling better. Na, you picked it right, "timing/sync issues" out the wazoo man. The first time we recorded it the other day it was pretty slick, but we retracked the drums at least five or so times and he never seemed to get back into it like the first take. Thanks for ya ears man!

Guernica: >>This has a "sung in one take" kinda feel<< haha! Man i've worn a hole in this foot pedel...i'm a punchin fool man:D . I know what ya mean about the vocal pitch slips, I aint no singer man...but i'm all I got:D . Thanks!

chrisharris: "Those are real drums right?", the snare/highhat/and overheads are real...toms and kick are fake. Okay "people get ready"...you know i bet I haven't heard that song five times in my life, but it must have that same groove or something...i didn;t mean for it to:( ...Thanks brutha chris!

GT:Thanks for listening man, yeah it's just me and some dickhead that thinks he's a drummer:D , No he's a great friend of mine. Thanks alot man!

SLuiCe: hehe, hey I can swim but you wont see me jumping into know damn river, not that big s.o.b. anyway's:D .Sorry about that, i usually slap it on over to wavelab and punch it up a bit...guess I forgot:) . Thanks for the kind words SLuiCe!

I love this song!!! And dude, yes you are a singer. Your voice has a great sound to it. Great playing, great recording.

I don't have anything constructive to add, so I'll just listen to it some more. (after I drag it to the keepers folder) ;).

Ultrasweet... Nice guitar chord voicings (B, G#, E)... cool progression.... almost like "Say it ain't so"... any time the V (five) is in a lower neck position than the IV (four), it's just BEAUTIFUL...

I gotta write some tunes in the key of B-- sounds so cool on the guitar. Funky chicken-fry, here. Love it. Goooood groooove. Guitar sounds like a Les/bridge/(clean)... niiice.

I'm guessing Gidge would love this, too.

Happy B-Day, btw!!

"guitar sounds like a Les/bridge" it's a 93 beck model strat thru a twin/5150 for leads. Thanks man for the listen, alway's look foward for you stoping by.

Happy Birthday man!!

No I wasn’t just being kind. I try not to do that ;) :D

I just turned 40 on the 24th, so I ain’t a too far behind ya :D

BTW – I grew up on the mighty Mississip (up north in Minnesota) and have a definite feeling of connection to the river as strange as that may sound. So I definitely dig when someone writes about it. In fact the first song I wrote, about 6 or 7 years ago (when I first kind of realized I could put some half way decent lyrics down once in awhile – so I started to get semi-serious about it), has to do with the Mississippi. It’s called “The River”. I probably will record it one of these days (weeks, months…) for real. I don’t think it’s a very commercial song, but it speaks to what I wanted to say and people who have heard it and know where I’m coming from have liked it.

Take care and have a great B-day. :)

I didn't mean for that to sound like a slam. I mean, Gee,...a bluesy rock tune that sounds a little like something else...lol...WHAT DOESN'T? The groove is similar, but for me, it's just your voice...you've got a great rock voice that happens to sound a bit like a world famous performer. I wish I had such a problem, LOL. Anyway, if it bugged you AT ALL, it shouldn't...you've got a unique sound that I'd recognize anywhere.

No I didn't take that as a slam chris, it's just that I put a version of that tune up on garageband.com couple yrs back and made it to the final count down...don't ask me fucking why, but at least 1/4 of my reviews were "sounds like" "people get ready" or "this is a total rip off" :D , guess I should of mentioned that before, sorry. Oh yeah doid i mention that I was shitfaced right about now:D

Sorry if this not about the tune...
woohoo my birthday is today too. Go aquarius (plural... aquarii?)

Hey David,
