My Bass Tracks are always 25-50ms late

Hey gents, I should know better, but don,t. Being in my late 50,s My reflexes are still pretty good when the doc hits me with his little hammer. But Playing Bass I always play on the back side and usually like it better after nudging about 20-50 ms to the left. I have an old version of pro tools HD 7.4.
Today I am listening to the lead vocals of a current client and he is late also. Every line is usually 20- 50ms late. So I just fix before mixing Am I missing a delay setting or are we just old?:eek: GT.

Are you sure the drivers haven't defaulted to the wrong ones? A common latency can sometimes creep in - my friends system keeps resetting to the ASIO4ALL driver, which is always behind! when he manually sets back to the lexicon driver he should be using, it goes away.
 
Check your latency settings. Do you have latency compensation turned on?
 
That's weird because Pro Tools 7.4 only works with Digidesign hardware so record offset correction should be automatic.
