Hey guys.

I recorded and mixed a live performance of my own band in a studio. I want too see you guys opinions about it.

The recording setup was:

Guitars: SM57's right in front of the amps
Bass: D.I.
Drums: Two Overheads placed using the Glyn Jon's tech, a D112 on the kick and a Beta57 on the snare.
Vocals: Sennheisers E835.

I went for a live yet noisey mix, as is kind of the style and aesthetic I think my band fits in.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds real good. I am curious what that PA speaker behind the bassist is doing.

I like it for the most part, vocals and snare down and the guitars up. On my system the guitars are very difficult to hear. Let the bass come up (hard to say with this mix) but I didn't hear any bottom push.

Over all, it does sound like you guys did a great performance and good tracking, just some tweaking in the mix.

Okay, wait a second. I thought this was a "live mix", as in mixed live to 2-track. That would have been particularly impressive.

Yeah, this is a pretty good mix for live. Pretty clean overall.

Guitars and bass could all come up a fair amount tho.

Also, it's not a real issue, but your video sync is off. Watch the drummer's hands. The audio's about a half beat behind.
