OMG!
Here's two songs I just finished up for a sampler my band is selling this weekend in Conncticut and Rhode Island. There are a few things that need adjustment, but it's just a sampler. Any critiques?

asenioryear.mp3- Very cool song. The lead vocal could be louder in the verses. Overall it was fun to listen to. You will do great selling it.

thinmankind.mp3- What is that 5/8? You got to have a very good band to do something like that. One thing that I did not like was the snare sound but that is just my opinion. Your music varies alot, from soft to a little heavy. I am not a big fan of the screaming bck vocals (what some folks call the Satanic screams) because most of the time you can't understand the message. But I think I actually understood some of it. Overall the song is instense.

Reminds me of At the drive in. I like it - very slick and interesting. Well done.

Lacks depth in the intro. That drum machine high hat is supremely irritating. I don't like the intro at all. Vocals are too low in volume there.

Vocals could use more ambiance on them.

Overheads seem too loud. Too much cymbal.

Guitar pops out of the mix on the single note melody parts. Other than that it sounds appropriate.

Kick seems right, but snare should come up a bit.

With a few tweaks this could be really great.

Heh, sorry about the drum machine thingy. I'm definiterly going to keep this all in mind for when I remix it for the EP. I did this all in two days.

On the single note parts, I actually purposely raised the volume a bit and added a raise at around 6500hz. If it sticks out too much, I'll get rid of it. I originally had the overheads quieter, my drummer bitched and wanted them louder. Heh.

Thanks for all the comments, guys. I really appreciate it. I was glad to see I didn't get destroyed by you, Cloneboy.
