He's an idiot then. Don't listen to him or them. If you like what you're using, then keep using it until you need something to step upto. I have used a 2496 for around 6 months, until I bought the MOTU 828mkII. But honestly, I really loved the card. The drivers were rock solid and flawless performance. Too bad I sold mine already; I want to get another one though-just for system audio.

It's fine. That guy was probably talking it down because he is trying to justify whatever more expensive soundcard he bought. What does he use, and what are his major complaints about the 2496? Maybe he was just referring the limited # of inputs and outputs? For beats or whatever, it is fine.

I honestly think many users of the AP2496 got the input monitoring messed up and got delayed copy of the input signal mixed in with the recording. It does sound terrible if that happens. The card isn't the best, but no way does it sound terrible!

I have the 24/96 right now, and it sounds fine, granted I will probably upgrade to a better interface later on in life when money comes in. He's either got something way better, or has a crappy setup with a sound blaster 16 lol

That guy doesent have a clue! I have two running in my machine and I know there are better soundcards but I am happy with the results. Yeah, I bet he has a soundblaster in his machine.

Yeah, don't listen to him. That is a decent card. If it is working, and you and your clients like the way it sounds, then there is no reason to dis it.

Did he show you anything he has recorded? I would be interessted to hear what he has to offer.
