I mix in (2x) real-time
Not long ago, I came to the Analog section of this forum for help on getting my Tascam 388 onto it's feet. With the help and guidance of a few members of this closely knit helpful forum, I was able to get my Tascam 388 into good working shape. I then set forward to record my band's album on the 388 only to be pleased with the results. Hopefully my album can serve as a testimonial to the quality but not a disgrace for the 388. My band's name is Atlas at Least and we play an off kilter indie pop rock. I have the album's mp3's in a zip file along with the album artwork. Also, I hope this is not taken as spam, as I have been a contributing member of this BBS for a fair amount of time now.

Here is a link to the myspace. You can find the link on the most recent blog or on the main page.

Here is the direct link to the download.

Thanks for everything you analog junkies. I still stand by thinking this is the most helpful, friendly, and closely knit part of this BBS. You guys rock! May the sticky shed only bring us closer together.

Thanks for everything, Eric Gieg.

Yes, I [and I'm certain the regulars here too] remember you well and your 388.:D

Welcome back Eric!:)

Just downloaded and unzipped the album. I really dig the original artwork and your band sounds really good. Yet another fine example of what can be achieved on the 388 by fine artists.

Thanks for the download and update, Eric. :)

You guys are the helpful bunch. You need a hip name for yourselves. Like "Bumps Analog" or something more lame like "The Reel Deal".

Downloaded this like a week ago and didn't listen to it immediately. A couple days ago I opened the folder like  and listened to it. Great stuff. I download albums all the time whether I hear of them from a "reputable source" like Spin or Rolling Stone or from some dude's random blog and I honestly thought it was the album of some band I heard about on Pitchfork or something except that they never have stuff this good on Pitchfork. Forced my girlfriend to listen to it as I do with all new bands I like and she gave the thumbs up too. If you guys are ever in Massachusetts let me know. Oh yea and Campfires and Battlefields is currently my myspace song.

That's great news Ampeg! Holding us in high regards in comparison to pitchfork bands ... wow. I think there's still some great bands on pitchfork but a lot of pitchfork seems to be filled by pretentious artists. Sometimes I question the motives of some people ... but to each their own! Somebodies questioning my motives as well so I should keep my mouth shut!

Thanks for everything you said. And great choice on your myspace song. Campfires and Battlefields is my favorite song from that album for sure. It's my favorite song to play live as well. The chorus vocal melody is what hits home with me. "spend the rest of my life..." I'll let you know when we put out our next album which should be in the next few months.

Stick around on this board too. 7 posts, you need a few more I'd say. Good people in this forum ... especially in the analog users group.

Thanks, Eric.

Yeah, Eric, keep it up.

Guitar/drum duo is not easy...you don't appreciate it until you try. Used to do a lot of guitar/drum duo stuff, improvised and otherwise in coffee houses in college. You guys sound very comfortable with the genre. Campfires and Battlefields is my fav. In my listening environment the vocals seem a little behind in the mix, but the textures and flavors, the performance and composition is great...

Like I said, keep it up. ;)
