My Advice as a Novice

People only want to be told tips and tricks. They don't want to be told about good fundamental practices and techniques. They're hard. They're no fun. They want to know how to use DAW trickery.

Right.

I also see lots of newbs who just want to be given a "setting"...a "number"...a "position"...without any interest in the why of it.

I don't blame people for feeling overwhelmed by all the audio knowledge and experience that goes behind most of the "why"...but I'm always annoyed by the people who want to dismiss it and ignore it, or worse yet, you think they know better, and there's no reason to learn about the "why".

It's like audio recording is no different than music listening for many newbs...something that's done in a rather superficial, "I don't really want to learn about it, I just want to do it" way.
