MXR M-80 (purely for metal)

Lots of people swear on both side of the M-80/Sansamp, but I need to know from those who use it or have used it, is it the best route for METAL? Hard bitting distortion (ala Marilyn Manson), tight eq, and a DI are things I'm looking for and I'm stuck between the two and unfortently, my GC doesn't have them at the moment.

Also, if anyone has any recording samples of some metal bass thru this pedal, I'd greatly appreciate in hearing them.
