sup yall, im new to tha boards, but im gettin ready to set up my home studio joint. ne way, i wanted 2 kno if anyone had an opinion on which was tha best mic for vocals. i got it narrowed down to tha Marshall MXL V67 or tha Studio Projects B3. Im tryin 2 stay under 200 for tha mic, so if u kno or any other good ones, let me kno. and u can check out my tracks at http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=47247902 or www.clutchprod.com, any feedback would be hot. thanks yall, get at me....

thamovement, I have a like-new MXL V63M mic that I am trying to get rid of. It has only been used a few times, and I have had great success using it for rap vocals. To me it is a lot like the V67g, but with more hyped mids, as the V67g is a bit cloudy in the midrange. Ask Change_of_Poets, he’s a well respected emcee in this forum who has also had great success using this mic. He also has clips of what this mic sounds like.

PM me if you are interested.

I like the studio projects line of mics.... Not sure about the B3 but others I have heard sound similar to the results using a U87 neuman..

thanks guys, tha replies were very helpful

i had a chance to mess wit a B3, and ill pass, a little too bright for me. Im actually gonna go wit an MXL V93 (2003) its a real percise, flat mic, and it should work fine for my vocals. thanks again
