I got it yesterday so I havn't tested it with too much vigor. Anyhow, the V63M in nearly identical to the MXL 1006 , the specs listed on the material that came with it are the same, the only difference that I can see is the color. I plugged it in to make sure it worked and it sure does. The first impression is that its relatively open sounding (a big duh for LD condensors) I still have to scream at it, whisper to it and see if it makes my acoustic guitar sound better. So as I test it more and start to form a more educated opinion I might post it. I disassembled it and looked at everything inside. To those who have never seen the insides its your typical Chinese cost and quality reduction methods. Bent up sheet metal framing, cheap screws and molded plastic frequent the internals. The only thing that look quality is the capsule itself. The nice thing about mics, is that there is always an application. It cost $79.99 so Im not complaining about what I get for that small investment, I can still feed my kids another month or so. Its great for homrecordists to get the job done without alot of complaints. Its not too noisy (tubefree) and its got a nice sound. I suspect its polar pattern is wider based on how much it picks up from the rear, a little bit of lobing off the back, Ill have to double check the rear attenuation characteristics though in a more sterile environment. If you can get the MXL 1006 for under $79.99 you should get it. For that price Harvey should get one for experimental purposes :0)

Peace,
Dennis
