It's ok KOP but..........it's ok.
Did you see the "king of new low end LDC thread" if anything you should pick up one of those MXL 2003a if your in the market for a microphone. ;)

I'm in the market I guess....

Not that important though I suppose, I'm not into vocals as much right now. I'm more on the search for the perfect guitar :)
 
The perfect guitar.......I've heard that rumor too. That it is out there somewhere but it's just a folk lore. Many have searched their whole life and never catch a glimpse of one....it's kind of like big foot ...some have sworn to have see one but don't have any proof of it.
Some say it was the guitar that Hendrix burnt on stage but with forensic analysis it was proved to only be a run of the mill strat that wouldn't stay in tune. :(

Actually his guitar was torn all to hell. The head stock was held on by clamps, the guitar had been set on fire, dropped, smacked around, and anything else bad that you can think of.


But there was more metal in that guitar than anything else.

i got the mxl v67g recently Nic and Ive been experimenting on my acoustic (as well as dodgy vocals) and believe the hype, there doesnt seem to be much this thing cant do...Id find out if folks have used this on an electric because I bet its pretty outstanding on that too (my amp isnt worth micing)


I bought new for $89....thats around the same as a 990 isnt it?
 
990 is $50., so give or take a twenty spot with in the same ball park.

Like all mics

The 990 is really good on some people, and sucks on others. I have a friend who swears by his, and he can afford, and has, much more expensive mics. On the other hand, I'm not particularly impressed with his results. I'd say it's totally the luck of the draw, but if you've got $50 you're willing to gamble with, then go for it.

FWIW, I've got a V67G, one everyone else seems to love, and I hate it on me. It's also supposed to be good on acoustic, but I haven't had a chance to try it in that situation.
