Mxl 990 ???

Hi, I would love to know opinions on this MXL 990 mic ?

I need him for recording some hard rock/metal singing. I am very low with amount of money I could spend. MAYBE I would be able to buy some Shure (57 or 58) but I found this clip below on youtube and I am really amazed how clean and "expensive" this actually cheap mic sounds.

For the price (you can get a new one for about $65) it's a fine mic. Nothing special, can be a little on the trebly side, but hey, it's $45-$65 bucks.

A sm 57 or sm 58 sound good as well but they are dynamic mics more suited to live use. For studio use, vocals probably should be recorded through a condenser mic and the MXL990 is an excellent deal.
