MXL 990 records strangely

I just bought an MXL 990 USB microphone and when i pluged it in and recorded something, i found that it recorded unevenly on the left and right side. Keep in mind that this is not the stero version, so it should deliver the exact same signal to the left and right side. Below is link to a screenshot of the waveform that i recorded:

Is this a problem with my new mic or is it a software issue?

why not just try recording something with the track set to record in mono rather than stereo?

im just worried that if its doing this, the mic may be damaged and i may not be gettting the best sound

EDIT: plus im just really curious as to how this could possibly happen when the mic only sends 1 signal to the computer

is that the recorded take or is it the waveform for the mix/mixdown?
