MXL 603 or 604?

In reading up on "bottom feeder" sdc's in this forum, I had settled on a pair of the MXL 603's as a starter set, since its seems the general opinion that they get the job done and the manufacturing quality control is decent. In cruising around for a good price I came across the MXL 604, which has the interchangeable cardiod and omni capsules, but appears to be the same mic otherwise (I guess also similar to the Studio Projects C4, but available for less). Any info, experience with or opinions on the MXL 604 are appreciated. Thanks, Joe

Id hope that the 604 is a fine mic...if it is a bottom feeder...it is like the king of them...the one pair of mics I have made in china that I like are the 603s.

I recommend that you can go to youtube and type in MXL604 and listen to various instruments through them...be sure and use HQ setting and listen through studio monitors if you can.
