Does anybody know what this error message means?

"Sw Err MrEvHndl 1142"

I got this when I tried to delete some projects.
I deleted the project and it didn't disappear from the project list.
I deleted it again and it was still there.
I then double-clicked it to see if it would load and I got the error.
The MX totally locked up and had to power it down.
I turned it back on and it was ok.
Any explanation of what happened?

I have never seen this one, but I think I have a list of error messages at the studio and will check it tonight.

It usually means there is a corrupted file in the project somewhere that the MX operating software can't figure out, This is a good reason to think about setting up the external scsi bay / tower I was telling you about, it lets you look into the drive and delete files that may be causing problems. It also sometimes lets you find and recover files that the mx can't see or load.

Try doing a disk clean up and see if the problem fixes. Also whenever possible carry out a low level format as the MX operating system leaves all kinds of register files and folders on the drive that sometimes causes problems when there is too many of them.

Cheers
Alan.

P.S go over to Tascam Forums the MX2424 section and post as there are some long time users there.
