Hey everyone. So I was over at a friend's house recording a song yesterday, and we used Garage Band. He showed me a feature called "Musical Typing", where you can choose from a bunch of different instruments, and use your computer keyboard to play them and record along with the other tracks. It sounded good, and worked out great. Since I don't have a Mac, I don't have Garage Band. Does anyone know of a similar program that I can open inside of my recording software (Adobe Audition 1.5), and record along with?

There are much better programs with much better placement methods. I think musical typing on garage band throws me off...i tend to get some lag with it and whenever I aline the live track to the metronome it throws off the feel of the groove. Honestly I would try Fruity Loops. You can download a trial version online just google fruity loops.

Alright, cool. Will I be able to record straight from Fruity Loops onto a track in Adobe Audition? Or, for example, will I have to create a beat with Fruity Loops first, and then import it into my song I recorded earlier in Adobe Audition and just line up the audio files so they rhythms are in sync?
