Music Theory question

Can somebody recommend a Music Theory Primer? I play by ear, and as I get more into recording, I am realizing that I need to know the scales, keys, etc. by name. I'm sure it will help my playing as well.

Suggest you take a basic music course at a Junior College. Study the scales, exercises, keys, etc. Cheap type of education.

it's a college standard. it starts with basic information and gets pretty in depth later on. buy the work book too and you'll have exercises that you can do along with the book.

It's pretty good.....
