Music made with Linux (power pop, alt.country, RickWakemanish synth solo)

Another mix of my new song, and I won't be happy probably ever. This sounds good though, at the time.

This song has been recorded in many sessions, first ones many months ago in our bedroom and other sessions in my garage: http://www.emvg.net/esa/garage/ . Drums were made with absolutely great software Hydrogen and I played the bass & few guitars through Behringer Tube Ultragain MIC200 -preamp/di and added some distortion & simulated cab "feel" with great CAPS plugins. Keyboard solo is played with Yamaha PSR-273 through Alsa Modular Synth -softsynth. Other keyboard sounds are original PSR-273 sounds.

Then some guitars were played with Behringer V-Tone Guitar GDI21 - a cheap but great sounding modelling preamp/DI.

Oh yeah, and DAW software I used was Ardour. Some quick "mastering" was done with Audacity and TAP Scaling Limiter. Another dose of TAP plugins and few other LADSPA plugins were used also.

I am proud of the lyrics of the chorus: "she's not a human being, she doesn't like Jeff Lynne, she's hairy all over the place"

Song is dedicated to my cat.

The main vocal & harmonies give the whole song a British Invasiion feel as per Herman's Hermits.& has a pop/new wave feel as well - Revillos, Undertones etc.
I like it - fresh, up & funny.
Well done.

Thanks a lot, nice forum here.

You were second to compare this song to Herman's Hermits, and it's great to read that there's British feel although I don't listen too much of British new wave bands. Well, I guess it's 32 years of age that bring different influences to my music.

Nice feel to this song. Very poppy and catchy, enjoy this  On my system sounds like you could bring up the vocals some, they're a little hard to hear/understand. Otherwise, sounds good to me man ;) Cheers
