Multitracking in Soundforge?

Well, from what I know of Sony, it probably was a major battle, with a few dead bodies in the halls!

Hmmm, it say's multichannel. Is that the same as multitrack?
Good point. I need to check that before I try it: I don't know if the other stuff is enough to make me upgrade. I download the demo this weekend and see.

Sound Forge 9 is not a daw and does not do multitracking...the world is plenty full of daw programs. What it remains being is an editor. Or a "mixdown" machine for some folks.

Sound Forge 9 does similar things as Wavelab's montage feature. This is the multi-channel concept (not multitrack). For example, you can open a pre-mixed 5.1 etc file and edit the individual channels for mastering or effects (one use for the Izotope apps that are now bundled).

You can also do things like load multiple stereo tracks for assembling final projects or mastering.

Thanks. Then there's probably no need for me to do the upgrade, then. I'm barely scratching the surface of 7.
