I recently purchased the digi design m-box but i have decided that i want to get something more hands on.I was looking at maybe the digi 002.If yall have any suggestions on that product or any suggestion on what multitrack u would purchase please reply.Maybe a roland,I am willin to spend up to about 2500,but if u know of a good one u have had experience with give me ur input. What about the tascam us-2400?thanks

How did you jump from an M-Box to a Digi 002?

Digi 002 w/ Pro Tools, you can't go wrong.

only get the 002 if you are needing more I/Os for what you do. If you want something hands on, ie. actual faders you can move with your hands...search for a Control Surface. You can just add it to what you already have for cheaper than the 002.

Well from what I was told i can do all my mixing(eq,reverb, panning and all that)with the 002.I mean its still pro tool but just a little less work.I was told the the pres are better to.I am going to get a presonus pre though. So u saying if i got a good pre just get a mixer?

no no no
i'm not sure you understand what a control surface does. All it does is just control the parameters in your software program. it's not really a mixer because no audio passes through it. It's really just an oversized mouse.

The reason the 002 is so expensive is because it not only is a control surface, but is also an 18 input sound card, a standalone mixer which you can use without hooking it up to a computer and it comes with Pro Tools. So if you already have a sound card and a software program...you can get something like:

there are other ones too...you'll have to look around or maybe someone else can suggest something.
