Multitrack recording issue

Hi, I need some help with regards to recording two live vocals onto separate tracks in a DAW.

The things I am using are :
Yamaha MG10XU
MXL 990 XLR microphone
AudioTechnica 2035 XLR microphone
USB connection from MG10XU to laptop
Adobe Audition as DAW

So my issue with recording two live vocals into separate tracks is that Audition doesn't allow for it. I get two inputs from my mixer but when I record on two separate tracks, they record both microphones together and basically just make copies of itself on each track. For example, track 1 is supposed to have the vocalist say "Ah" but track 2 also picks it up at the same volume, vice versa. Also my mixer is supposed to have 10 inputs(Roughly? definitely more than 2) but Audition only gives 2 inputs for usage. I've tried to change settings both in Audition and on my speaker settings. Here are some images of it.

Would be great if anybody could help me. Thanks!

Put one mike into channel 1, and pan this hard left.

Put the other into channel 2, pan hard right.

In Adobe Audition create two mono tracks. Make the first track see only the left input, and make the second track see only the right input.

Your mixer may have ten inputs, but it only outputs two channels via USB.
