New to cool edit, but have had some experience. I have practiced copying and pasting parts of a single track wave file to a new file. Can I do this with multitracks? I record sessions at church which will contain three or four songs on eight tracks. I want to highlight a song and move it to a new file. Is it possible? I don't see where multitrack has copy and paste features.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but check out the 'insert' function in multitrack view. It allows you to import a wav file into a multitrack session.

Copying In Multi-Track Mode

There are a couple of ways I do this...

You can highlight just a portion of a single track, while in multi-track mode.
-- Then do a loop/duplicate of a single incidence, and move it wherever you want.
-- Or... go to Edit and choose the Mixdown option... then Selected tracks. Default is to mix down as a stereo image, but you have the option to choose mono.

I haven't figured out how to copy multiple tracks into multiple/seperate destinations.
