Multiple USB interfaces...would it work?

I have ended up with two M-Audio MobilePre USB interfaces. The MobilePre has two inputs allowing for simutaneously recording two tracks. If I were to run both interfaces on my laptop using Cubase 5 would this allow me to record four simultaneous tracks? In theory it seems like it'd work but I don't know. You may be thinking why doesn't he just get a multiple input firewire interface...my laptop = no firewire.

Cubase allows only one interface at a time. I remember hearing about another DAW that allows multiple interfaces, but I can't remember which one. I don't believe it's one of the mainstream programs, though. Maybe it was Mixcraft or Presonus' Studio One.

Reaper has a legacy option (on the Mac) for using one interface for output and the other for input. Maybe the Windows version has that too? Never tried it, tho...

Since you already have both units why not plug em in ad give it a try and let us know if it is possible

It can but there's no guarantees.
Try using "ASIO 4 All" or some other generic driver instead of the proprietary drivers.
