I have a Yamaha SW1000XG which I'm gonna keep because the onboard sounds are great. However, the latency is a big problem so much so that I monitor through a mixer and disable the soundcard output while recording.
However I want to get a new low latency soundcard through which to record, so I can monitor with effects plug ins etc. My question is, will I still be able to use the SW1000XG? I guess the answer to this part is 'Yes' as I would just specify it as a MIDI instrument? But will I be still able to use the 'loopback' input that currently appears in the VST Inputs section, as this is great for converting MIDI tracks to audio without them leaving the digital domain.
Appreciate any help on this, and also any suggestions as to a decent really low latency soundcard to run under XP (budget of about GBP200/USD300)
Thanks
