I'm doing some home recording on my computer, and I'm wondering if there's such a thing as an adapter that will allow me to plug in more than one microphone to my sound card? If anyone has any information, I'd greatly appreciate it.

The simplest thing to do is get a mixer and convert the stereo outputs of that down to a 1/8" stereo male plug that would go into your sound card's "line-in" input. Mixers vary in price greatly, so how many mics do you need?

Well I have a mike, an electric guitar, and an electric bass that I want to play directly into the computer. I have adapters to bring it down from 1/4 to 1/8 on all of them, but I want to be able to record them all at the same time. Thus, I would need more than one jack.

Here are some. Many people have had good luck with the inexpensive four channel mixers. Good luck.

Yah, the cheapest and easiest solution is to get a mixer and do as I said. The Yamaha MG10/2 is cheap and has really decent sound for the money. You can probably find one on ebay for around $50 used.

Make sure your soundcard has a stereo line in jack. You do not want to use your mic input with the mixer's output.

Yeah. IMHO, the Peavey PV8 is a nice beast for $110. BTW, that search query on MF sucked. The whole first page was Behringer gear.... :D
