I am going to be recording a "live" album shortly where the 8 ins of my Gadget Labs card won't be enough. I was wanting to add 4 to 8 more ins. I was wondering if anyone has done this and whether they had any problems with the 2 cards syncing up on recording?

I was thinking of adding a Delta 1010 or an adat ai3 or (ya'lls Ideas?)

I have read in other forums where people have had problems with recording on one card while monitoring on another but I wont be doing that. Once the 14-16 tracks are live recorded and i go back into the studio for clean up and overdubs i will go back to recording and monitoring on the same card.

My basic set up is: 700 p3 gygabite/ 256 ram/ win98se/samplitude 2496/ gadget labs 824 .

Any input would be appreciated the recording date is 07-20-02 so I have to make my updates by then.

I'm not familiar with the Gadget Labs system, but I'd highly recommend seeing if there is an additional I/O package you can get for it. I've tried a bunch of different configurations with win98se and win2k, and I've had very little luck.

I have a C-Port, and up to 4 (or 5, I can't remember) can be chained together byte sync'ed. This is very difficult (if not impossible) to do with different packages.

Another option might be to rent a standalone DAW with 16 inputs for the event, then bring the tracks into your PC when you get home (as long as you can sync the transfers). ...might be a bit cheaper, anyway.
