This may have been covered before, but "DI" is to short to search under.
I am looking for DI (or combo DI and mic pre) that would work for a variety of uses. I would use it live with my upright bass' peizo bridge pickup. Same deal with acoustic guitar. I also want to use it in recording applications with electric bass guitar, guitar, and keyboards.
I have been using a Sansamp bass driver DI, which works well with electric bass but not with upright. I tried a Demeter VTDB, which sounded great with the upright, but doesn't offer any control to speak of (this might not be a problem).
Many mic pres (RNP,DMP3,etc.) have DI capability, but many of them don't have a high enough input impedence to work well with piezos. I think you need at least 1M ohm, preferably higher.
Right now I am leaning towards the Brick. Any thoughts?
